There are no presentations or demos lined up this week, just open networking.
And at the Rubicon Centre, CIT, Bishopstown on Friday 27th January at 10:15am
To get OCC of to an inspiring start in 2012, Stephen Bean, photographer, movie maker, lecturer and media producer for UCC is going to give us a talk.

Stephen has an astonishing breadth of experience from war photography to photographing silver tea pots (do you know how hard that is?!) to filming interviews and caves so bring along you image media questions for him.

Open Coffee with Cork Coder Dojo
There will be a special Open Coffee on this saturday 17th December @11am at the
National Software Centre, Mahon with Cork Coder Dojo.
The Coder Dojo is a weekly meetup where young people aged 6+ can learn the basics
of web development and build sites/apps with the help of the volunteers there.

Free Windows Phone Training
Microsoft are doing a full days free training in Cork on December 9th . Obviously iOS and Android are leading the mobile battle but with Nokia having adopted Windows Phone, the o/s is going to be a player in the mobile market.
Nokia, although plummeting, still has the highest market share at just over 25% compared to Apples share of 3.9%. http://techcrunch.com/2011/05/20/nokia-sees-lowest-market-share-in-14-years-gartner/
If you’re interested in attending, good idea to bring your laptop for the hands on labs and have downloaded the at Windows Phone tools SDK in advance.

Microsoft have got a full day of Windows Phone training happening in Cork on 9th of December which is coming up quickly.
Josh Holmes and James McNamara will be the trainers for this jam packed day.
Open Coffee BBQ
BBQ is booked for Friday 23rd September at 8pm at SOHO, 77 Grand Parade, Cork. The bar-b-que will take place on the fourth floor on the private barbecue deck and bar. There are still places available and it should be a brilliant night.

The menu for the evening will be as follows
BREADS: A selection of fresh breads.
DIPS: Chef’s recommendations of dip’s
BAKED POTATO: BBQ’d piping hot baked potatoes.

COLESLAW: Julienne of carrot and Dutch cabbage lightly seasoned and finished with real mayonnaise.
PASTA SALAD: Rigatoni pasta bound with sun-dried tomatoes, black olives and our house dressing.

POTATO SALAD: Classic potato salad, potato. Mayonnaise, chive and redonion.

Cork Open Coffee May 14th

This weeks Cork Open Coffee is taking place this Friday the 14th at 10am in The Rubicon Centre in Bishopstown in Cork (Map).
There are no demos or talks lined up this week. If you have a new site or app that you’d like to show off and get some feedback on, get in touch.
Bizcamp Dublin takes place on May 29th in the Guinness Storehouse. BizCamp is an opportunity for entrepreneurs and innovators to come together, share experiences, and possibly create something new. Definitely worth a trip.
Cork Open Coffee is also looking for any businesses that might like to Sponsor some future Open Coffee events, this means for a small amount we’d be able to get in some Coffee and nibbles from local businesses, especially Mr. Cotton Coffee.

Cork Open Coffee Friday 11th at 10am
This weeks Cork Open Coffee is in the Rubicon Centre, CIT Campus Bishopstown on Friday 11th from 10am – 12pm.This the last Cork Open Coffee of 2009.
There will be 2 demos on Friday. John Dennehy will be talking about his great time tracking application at http://www.assemblypoint.com and Paul Brugger will be talking about a new Twitter application called @Localnumber which allows you to search and instantly receive contact phone numbers for businesses types in your area through Twitter.
Some great coffee and nibbles will be there on the morning, free to all thanks to sponsorship from Paul Brugger from City Local Cork. The Coffee is from Mr Cotton Coffee and the nibbles are from Denise O Callaghans Delicious gluten free bakery.

The demo/talk slot is from Joe Walsh from Empart Technologies. Impart technologies provide situational based assessment using standard Internet based tools.
Joes business has recently been accepted on to the Genesis Enterprise programme in the Rubicon and would like to share the businesses plans so far with Cork Open Coffee and hear your views.
